Holy Thorn: a Novel

I wrote my first book! Here's a little summary:Village apothecary owner Elix confronts a grim medical condition that's causing animals to attack locals. Jess, a young priestess from out of town, has been assigned to the vacant position in the town's small church. She begins investigating the church's history and the legacy of her late predecessor, who was also Elix's foster mother. The two women find themselves alternately cooperating and butting heads as the two mysteries converge to reveal a more profound threat that will alter the landscape of the world in which each thinks she lives.Subscribe to my brand-new mailing list if you want to know when, where, and how you can read Holy Thorn!

About Ratbones

I like to write fiction about clever characters who solve mysteries and go on exciting, dangerous adventures with the help of magic or science or fake, magical science. As a lesbian myself, I've always craved plot-heavy stories with fantastical settings, badass battles, and complex romances and friendships, centering characters who just happen to be lesbian or gay. Now I'm manifesting the things I want to read into reality, one chapter at a time.I know I'm not the only one. If you also seek big gay adventures, you are welcome here. I'm writing for you.In my personal life, I am an early-30s skittering thing living under the floorboards of an ancient farmhouse. I push typewritten sheets of paper out of the crack in the floor behind the oven on a semi-regular basis. My degree is from the University of Silly Notions and I have been published in the distant thunderheads that ride the horizon opposite the sunset and your elementary school diary. I also like to brew tea and visit museums.
